This former St Patrick's Catholic church is of historic cultural significance as a rare example of a shingled church and demonstrates principle characteristics of Federation Carpenter Gothic building.
Built in 1919, it is sited in a prominent position on a hilltop adjacent to Deddington Road, Blessington - which is only a convenient 30 minute drive from the City of Launceston.
The Blessington community boasts a population of 200 residents and is a popular area for recreational activities, including fishing, hunting, cycling and skiing at the nearby Ben Lomond National Park.
The church was tastefully converted to a dwelling in 2005 by the present owners in the style of modern/country, although the quaint exterior remains the same.
